At Luxury Monte-Carlo, the dialogue between haute couture and high jewellery takes center stage through a refined collaboration with Antonio Riva Milano. On June 13th, during the third day of the high jewellery exhibition at The Unique Show, the Maison’s couture creations will be presented in a diffused fashion show, thoughtfully paired with exceptional jewellery pieces from participating designers and maisons.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision rooted in craftsmanship, artistry, and attention to detail. Antonio Riva Milano, known for its distinctive Made in Italy aesthetic and architectural silhouettes, naturally aligns with the world of high jewellery, where each piece embodies rarity and precision. Together, couture and jewellery create a curated experience that celebrates contemporary luxury through a harmonious exchange of forms, materials, and savoir-faire.
In this exclusive conversation, Antonio Riva shares insights into his creative evolution, the relationship between fashion and jewellery, and the role of cultural dialogue in shaping modern luxury.

Antonio Riva, Founder of the Maison
Antonio Riva Milano has been redefining Italian haute couture for over 25 years. What continues to inspire your creative vision today, and how has your approach to design evolved over time?
For over 30 years, my creative vision has been primarily inspired by women and their uniqueness. Today, I continue to draw inspiration from their evolution and their ever-changing way of experiencing femininity. My approach to design has been refined over time, while remaining faithful to the founding values of my work: a deeply Made in Italy aesthetic, built through strong tailoring and a constant pursuit of craftsmanship. Each creation is conceived as a coherent dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity.
How do you integrate modern techniques without losing the authenticity of traditional couture craftsmanship?
For me, integrating modern techniques means evolving irreversibly without ever betraying the identity of haute couture. I adopt contemporary tools and approaches only when they serve the human gesture and Italian craftsmanship, which are the true heart of my work. Technology does not replace the artisan’s hand; rather, it supports it, allowing us to further elevate the quality and precision of the final result.

How do your ateliers and creative spaces impact the way your designs come to life and are experienced by clients?
Working in historic locations such as Palazzo Toschi Corneliani and Palazzo Grazioli means being immersed daily in beauty and history. This setting enhances the value of Made in Italy and transforms each client’s experience into something emotional and authentic. In my ateliers in Milan, Rome and Tokyo, I offer a highly refined and fully personalized service for each client.
The Officina Creativa brings together every aspect of the Maison, from design to prototyping and tailoring, all the way to sales and communication. It is a multifaceted space that creates the ideal conditions for a continuous exchange of ideas; this creative flow fosters a coherent and immediate vision.
How do you translate a woman’s individuality into a gown while preserving the distinctive Antonio Riva Milano aesthetic?
Translating a woman’s individuality into a creation means listening to her deeply and transforming her essence into form. Each Antonio Riva Milano piece remains exclusive because it is made to measure, through meticulous attention to detail and to the client’s desires.
The woman who wears my creations is confident, elegant and seeks a strong identity that is never ostentatious.

High fashion and high jewelry are often seen together in the luxury world. In your opinion, how do these two forms of art complement each other?
Haute couture and high jewelry share the same essence: time, care and rarity. Both are rooted in extraordinary craftsmanship and in a pursuit of detail that goes beyond aesthetics.
For me, a couture piece is like a jewel, constructed through the most sophisticated tailoring techniques, where every element is designed to interact with precious materials and unique forms. Together, garment and jewel express a shared language of excellence.
What makes the Luxury Monte-Carlo event the ideal setting for your creations?
Luxury Monte-Carlo represents an ideal context as it combines international scope and excellence. It is a stage where the value of craftsmanship can be understood and appreciated by a global audience that is attentive to authentic luxury and uncompromising quality.
Antonio Riva Milano has an international audience, what countries interest you the most today?
My outlook is increasingly international, with a particular focus on Japan, which is currently my main market, followed by Korea, where I perceive a strong sensitivity toward aesthetic research and quality. More recently, I have also been involved in numerous initiatives dedicated to the Middle East—a dynamic and constantly evolving context—with a particular focus on the United Arab Emirates (especially Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah), as well as Saudi Arabia.
I believe fashion is a cultural bridge: a language capable of creating dialogue between different traditions and sensibilities, uniting Western savoir-faire with the desire for individual expression that is characteristic of Eastern cultures.
